Job summary

Mental Health Association of Rochester is seeking a dedicated Personal Care Aide to provide in-home care services in Tarboro, North Carolina.

You will follow client care plans, assist with bathing, grooming, mobility, meal preparation, and medication reminders, while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read and write.
• At least 6 months of validated caregiving experience.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to communicate effectively, follow instructions, and maintain professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Follow client care plans and complete daily tasks via electronic systems.
• Assist clients with self-help activities and provide basic personal care such as bathing, grooming, ambulating, and meal preparation, including attention to special diets.
• Utilize safety precautions, infection control, and proper equipment like walkers and wheelchairs.
• Perform secondary tasks like laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping, and meal prep, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
• Respect client confidentiality, privacy, and rights while delivering quality care.
• Assist with self-administration of medications (without direct administration) and monitor client condition, reporting any concerns or unusual changes.
• Follow all policies, seek guidance when needed, and notify supervisors of issues such as abuse, neglect, or unsafe environments.
