Bar Harbor Bank & Trust in Randolph, VT is seeking an experienced Personal Banker to join our team. This full-time role (40 hours) focuses on delivering a courteous, professional customer experience and driving sales and service excellence.

You will handle a broad range of transactions, open and maintain accounts, identify loan and online banking opportunities, and build lasting relationships with customers and community partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school degree or the equivalent.
• Banking, retail and/or customer service experience is required.
• Self-motivated with a demonstrated aptitude and desire for customer service and sales achievement.
• Decision-maker with well-developed interpersonal skills.
• Active listening and communication skills, verbal and written; proven ability to adapt tone and techniques to best suit the audience.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems and acclimate quickly to changing priorities, multi-tasking.
• Honesty and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Processes a complete range of transactions and customer services with an emphasis on maximizing and deepening customer relationships through the identification of sales opportunities.
• Proficiently opens and maintains all types of accounts with limited exceptions.
• Identify qualified referral opportunities and offer warm hand-offs to business partners.
• Builds and maintains personal banking relationships with customers and businesses.
• Engage with customers and prospects at community events; conduct outbound calling activities.
• Handle escalated customer situations and involve appropriate parties as needed.
• Discuss consumer loans with customers, input applications and close loans with limited exceptions.
