Job summary

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust is seeking an experienced Personal Banker for a full-time 40-hour week based in Randolph, VT. You will represent the Bank professionally while delivering a customer experience aligned with BHBT’s sales and service standards.

The role emphasizes building customer relationships, opening and maintaining accounts, and identifying sales opportunities. You will contribute to branch goals in deposits, loans, referrals, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school degree or the equivalent.
• Banking, retail and/or customer service experience is required.
• Self-motivated with a demonstrated aptitude and desire for customer service and sales achievement.
• Decision-maker with well-developed interpersonal skills.
• Active listening and communication skills, verbal and written; proven ability to adapt tone and techniques to best suit the audience.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems and acclimate quickly to changing priorities, multi-tasking.
• Honesty and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Processes a complete range of transactions and customer services with an emphasis on maximizing and deepening customer relationships through the identification of sales opportunities.
• Demonstrates ability to proficiently open and maintain all types of accounts.
• Identify qualified referral opportunities and offer warm hand-offs to business partners.
• Builds and maintains personal banking relationships with customers and businesses.
• Interacts with customers and prospects at community events and through outbound calling.Handles escalated customer situations and involves appropriate parties.
• Discusses consumer loans with customers, inputs applications and closes loans.
• Contributes toward meeting branch goals in deposits, loans, referrals, and other categories.
