Job summary

The City of Redwood City Information Technology Department seeks a collaborative Software Development & Application Support Analyst II to lead primary support for the Community Development Department’s permitting system and related workflows. The role may extend to other City systems as needed and reports to the GIS and Analytics Manager.

Qualifications

• Must have at least three (3) years of application development and/or application support experience, including public sector experience.
• Bachelor's degree in MIS or related field.
• Knowledge of municipal operations and related computer applications is desirable.
• Experience with permitting, land management, development services, or enterprise systems is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to end-users of various on-premises and cloud-based applications within the City’s Community Development and Engineering Departments
• Assist in the management and maintenance of enterprise systems and online applications, such as the permitting system, public data access system, and payment processing system.
• Assist with development of new or revised system processes and procedures, develop action plans, and test and implement system improvements and modifications.
• Coordinate with vendors to report and resolve system bugs, schedule and implement system maintenance and upgrades.
• Perform data analysis, run SQL queries, create reports, and develop data visualization tools using Excel, Power BI, and Tableau
• Provide staff with end-user application training, create detailed training manuals/guides, and document user procedures and workflow processes.
