Job summary

The Village of Oak Park seeks a Permits and Development Supervisor to expedite reviews, assure regulatory compliance, and streamline permit and certificate processing. The role supervises a team of Customer Service Technicians and collaborates with the Permits and Development Manager/Chief Building Official.

Key duties include planning work, establishing schedules, coordinating with other divisions, and producing reports on permits and inspections, with potential testimony in court or admin

Qualifications

Three years of responsible experience in processing building permits, land use, planning or code enforcement.

Responsibilities

Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, and review the work of Permit Customer Service Technicians.
Review plans, drawings and documents for compliance with building code and construction ordinances.
Coordinate and track departmental activities on permit-issuance, construction, and inspections; issue permits and approvals as needed.
Prepare analytical reports on permits, construction operations and inspection services; support in court or admin proceedings when required.
