Job summary

The Village of Oak Park seeks a seasoned Neighborhood Code Compliance Manager to lead the Code Compliance Division within Neighborhood Services. You will administer the Property Maintenance Code and serve as Chief Property Maintenance Inspector, providing expert staff support to the Director.

You will direct work plans, supervise inspection staff, develop policies, manage the division budget, coordinate with other agencies, and ensure timely enforcement of code rules to keep the community safe

Qualifications

• At least five years of progressively responsible experience in code enforcement or related field.
• At least one year of supervisory experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Possession of or ability to obtain ICC certification for International Property Maintenance Code within one year.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate and review the Code Compliance Division work plan.
• Supervise inspection staff and coordinate with other divisions and agencies.
• Develop and implement policies, priorities, and procedures.
• Manage division budget and forecast funds for staffing and equipment.
• Investigate and resolve code enforcement complaints with stakeholders.
• Prepare staff reports and participate in professional meetings.
