Job summary

The Village of Oak Park is seeking a Property Maintenance Community Development Inspector to inspect residential and commercial occupancies for code compliance, coordinate housing program implementation, and act as a liaison with property owners and contractors.

You will perform field inspections, prepare cost estimates and rehabilitation contracts, and support adjudication processes under supervision from the Neighborhood Services Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting residential and commercial occupancies for code compliance.
• Familiarity with housing programs and liaison with owners/contractors.
• Ability to prepare documentation, cost estimates, and reports.

Responsibilities

• Inspect properties to ensure compliance with property maintenance codes.
• Coordinate with Village departments and housing programs.
• Prepare job specs, cost estimates and rehabilitation contracts.
• Assist in adjudication and hearings and maintain program records.
