Job summary

Lennar is seeking a Permit Coordinator to oversee the Starts Process at the division office. You will develop panels, collect paperwork, submit for approvals and permits, and enter data into JD Edwards screens.

The role requires strong organization, ability to manage critical tasks for starting a home in Lennar's system, and effective coordination with engineers, architects, and municipalities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required; College degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with single/multi-family and amenity permitting.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize and take initiative.
  • Ability to read blueprints and plot plans.
  • Detail-oriented team player comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with heavy volume workload.
  • Valid Driver's License with good driving record.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel).

Responsibilities

  • Obtain documents from Engineers and Architects to facilitate the permit application process.
  • Obtain all required approvals for permits and act as liaison between the company and each municipality.
  • Prepare and submit applications to various agencies and boards having jurisdiction over required permits and/or approvals.
  • Review any plans issued out of the division for correct revision dates and review start packages for accuracy.
  • Coordinate paperwork and applications with outside consultants as necessary.
  • Submit paperwork for permits, enter permitting data, prepare start packages for construction managers, and obtain inspections needed for closing.
  • Work closely with the municipalities on the status of permits and ensure they are processed in a timely manner.
  • Produce and maintain schedules for all communities and coordinate with municipalities from approval to final stages of the permitting process.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, etc.
  • Maintain all company files relating to site plan applications, approvals, licenses and permits.
  • Meet with county board, attend hearings on behalf of Lennar to present projects and request approval.

Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements
  • Regular, in-person attendance at company communities/job sites and offices during regular work hours.
  • Requires the ability to work in excess of eight hours per day in the confined quarters of a construction trailer.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry equipment which may be in excess of 50 pounds.
  • Job may require occasional operation of construction equipment.
  • Finger dexterity may be required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
