Job summary

Lennar is seeking a Permit Coordinator to oversee the Starts Process at the division office. You will obtain documents, manage permit submissions, and coordinate with engineers, municipalities, and consultants to keep projects on schedule.

The role requires strong organization, data entry, and the ability to work onsite across communities and job sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Experience with permitting for single/multi-family projects is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain documents from engineers and architects to facilitate permit applications.
  • Obtain approvals for permits and liaise between the company and municipalities.
  • Prepare and submit applications to agencies/boards with jurisdiction over permits.
  • Review division plans for correct revision dates and start packages for accuracy.
  • Coordinate paperwork with outside consultants as needed.
  • Submit permits, enter permitting data, and prepare start packages for construction managers.
  • Meet with county boards and attend hearings to present projects and seek approval.

This includes developing panels, collecting paperwork, submitting for approvals and permits, and entering data into several JD Edwards screens. This position requires a high level of organization and ability to manage the critical tasks related to starting a home in Lennar’s system.A career with purpose.A career built on making dreams come true.A career built on building zero defect homes, cost management, and adherence to schedules.Your Responsibilities on the TeamObtain documents from Engineers and Architects to facilitate the permit application processObtain all required approvals for permits and act as liaison between the company and each municipalityPrepare and submit applications to various agencies/ boards having jurisdiction over required permits and/or approvalsReview any plans issued out of the division for correct revision dates and review start packages for accuracyCoordinate paperwork and applications with outside consultants as necessarySubmit paperwork for permits, enter permitting data, prepare start packages for construction managers, and obtain inspections needed for closing.Work closely with the municipalities on the status of permits and ensure they are processed in a timely mannerProduce and maintain schedules for all communities and coordinate with municipalities from approval to final stages of permitting processSchedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, etcMaintain all company files relating to site plan applications, approvals, licenses and permitsMeet with county board, attend Hearings on behalf of Lennar, to present project and request approvalYour ToolboxMinimum High School Diploma or equivalent required; College degree preferredMinimum 1 year experience with single/multi-family and amenity permitting preferredStrong organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize and take initiativeMust be detail-oriented team player comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with heavy volume workloadValid Driver’s License with good driving recordIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel)Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:Regular, in-person attendance at Company communities/job sites and offices during regular work hours is an essential function of this job. Requires the ability to work in excess of eight hours per day in the confined quarters of a construction trailer, the ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry equipment which may be in excess of 50 pounds. Job may require occasional operation of construction equipment.
