Aggreko is seeking a Technician 1 Power Day and Night Shift based in Odessa, TX or New Mexico. This role involves field work and daily travel in a company vehicle from the Midland, TX/Carlsband, NM service center.

You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on power generators, diesel engines, and electrical distribution equipment, and you may be scheduled for overtime or weekend work with potential travel.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience working on Cummins diesel power/natural gas generators, mechanics or electricians and/or commercial, performing inspections, maintenance, and repair.
• Ability to read schematics and calculate nominal/tonnage or kW requirements.
• May require TWIC card or valid DOT medical card based on customer requirements.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

• You’ll be based out of our Midland, TX/Carlsband, NM service center and can expect to work in the field with local travel daily in your company vehicle
• You’ll have an opportunity to work overtime and weekends, and there is a potential for travel
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs of power generators, diesel engines, and electrical distribution equipment

You Are

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
• 4+ years of experience working on Cummins diesel power/natural gas generators, mechanics or electricians and/or commercial, performing inspections, maintenance, and repair
• Experience with calculating nominal and effective tonnage and/or kW requirements, along with reading and knowing schematics
• Based on the customer requirements, you may be required to obtain and maintain a TWIC card or valid DOT medical card
• Ability to move or lift objects, typically less than 75 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license

Other Essential Job Requirements

• Availability to work the assigned schedule, travel to work locations (if needed) and be on standby for work outside of regularly scheduled shifts
• Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged periods of time; and be able to walk over uneven terrain with functional balance that does not require any special assistive devices
• Must be able to move the extremities and spine through a functional range of motion that will permit work to be safely performed from ground / floor level to full overhead level
• Must have good finger dexterity to manipulate small items, functional hand-eye coordination, and functionally grip with adequate strength to safely hold tools and stair railing or ladders
• Must be able to safely meet the physical demands outlined in the Essential Physical Capacities Assessment and pass the post-offer physical abilities assessment, which includes being able to lift (60 lbs), push/pull (80 lbs), carry (60 lbs), climb stairs and ladders as well as a combination of climbing while carrying objects (15 lbs), stoop, kneel and squat
