Job summary

WestCare Inc. seeks a Permanency Specialist to ensure timely permanency outcomes for children in foster care. You will analyze data, coordinate staffing, and engage families in reunification efforts while ensuring accurate records and regulatory compliance.

You will work with case managers and supervisors to remove barriers to permanency, attend court when needed, and support safety planning for complex cases. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field with at least two years of experience in human services or child welfare.
  • Certified Case Manager preferred; Florida-specific credentials are a plus.
  • Bilingual is preferred; valid Florida driver’s license and vehicle insurance required.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes permanency efforts and focuses on children projected for safe exits from care.
  • Creates monthly permanency data reports and analyzes barriers to timely permanency.
  • Maintains accurate logs of permanency status and actions to expedite safe exits.
  • Collaborates with Case Managers and Supervisors to complete necessary activities.
  • Coordinates staffing, follows up on tasks, and supports safety planning.
  • Documents staffing outcomes in FSFN and tracks follow-up reminders.
  • Engages families in permanency and reunification staffing; explores abandonment options.
  • Oversees placement and safety plans; ensures compliance with directives and policies.
  • Attends court when necessary and participates in staff conferences.
