Job summary

Raise-the-Futur is seeking a Youth Connections Advocate in Las Vegas to help place foster youth into permanent homes. You will learn about each youth, review histories, and advocate for connections to caring adults who can provide stability.

You will work with CASA, the judicial system, probation, and human services to promote permanency and success. 50% travel within Nevada is possible; strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years in child welfare, CASA, courts, or related areas.
• Bachelor's Degree in social work or related field.
• General computer literacy; MS Office; experience with databases (data mining) preferred.
• Travel up to 50% within state; reliable transportation required.
• Willingness to travel evenings/weekends as needed.
• Strong organizational and multi-project management skills.
• Ability to build relationships across diverse populations including public agency staff.
• Willingness to engage in cold calling.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Master’s degree preferred; substitution for Bachelor’s possible with two years’ adoption experience.

Responsibilities

• Find permanent homes for youth, especially the hardest to place.
• Review youth history and advocate to connect with suitable adults.
• Learn the Wendy's Wonderful Kids model and apply it.
• Work with CASA, courts, and social services to achieve permanency.
• Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to support youth.
• Travel as required within the state for case assignments.
