Job summary

The State of Oregon’s Department of Human Services seeks a Permanency Worker (Social Service Specialist 1) for the North Bend Child Welfare office on the southern Oregon Coast. This role focuses on safety, permanence planning, and collaboration with families to support children’s well‑being.

• Experience alone will not meet the minimum qualifications for those positions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess safety, well-being, and development of children in substitute care.
• Facilitate and observe parent–child visits, provide coaching, and arrange transportation.
• Collaborate with caregivers, parents, extended family, schools, and community partners to develop case plans.
• Coordinate services to support family progress and meet each child’s needs.
• Prepare and maintain thorough case documentation and participate in court proceedings.
