Job summary

The Oregon Department of Human Services is seeking a Child Protective Services Worker (Social Service Specialist 1) for its North Bend office. You will conduct child safety assessments, interview families, and develop service plans to support safe, healthy outcomes.

Work hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific, on-site in North Bend. You will travel as needed, handle high-stress cases with empathy, and participate in multidisciplinary activities and court processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field or equivalent.
• One year of Human Services related experience, or coursework/certification as Oregon Caseworker.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Experience with culturally competent practice and diverse families.

Responsibilities

• Respond to referrals by interviewing children, parents, and others to assess safety.
• Conduct safety assessments and plan protective actions or safety plans.
• Develop service plans and connect families with community resources.
• Arrange placements and participate in court hearings and team meetings.
• Maintain clear documentation and communicate with diverse families and partners.
