Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Perishable Department Lead to oversee Produce, Meat, Dairy, Bakery and Frozen sections in our Earle, AR store. Under Store Manager supervision, you will manage inventory, pricing, presentation and customer service to drive safe, profitable operations.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, at least 1 year in retail and 6 months of supervisory experience, with food handling certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in maintaining financial integrity through cash accountability and security practices.
• Maintain correct perishable stock levels using order guides and sales history.
• Train associates on perishable presentation, freshness, and pricing standards.
• Record inventory levels and perishable markdowns, analyze causes, and take corrective actions.
• Ensure customer needs are addressed promptly and compliance with sanitation standards.
