Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Chesapeake, VA, is seeking an Assistant Club Manager in Training – Perishables. This role provides leadership within the club, developing talent, and preparing for one of three paths: Merchandising, Perishables, or Member Experience.

You’ll ensure compliance with GOLD standards, partner with the Club Manager, and oversee onboarding, training, and daily operations to drive performance.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in a retail or grocery environment.
• Ability to develop and coach staff for peak performance.
• Strong understanding of store operations, safety, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic department leadership across assigned areas and oversee daily operations.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard team members; manage staffing and certifications.
• Oversee labor planning, scheduling, and budget targets to meet company goals.
• Drive sales, inventory control, and shrink management while upholding GOLD standards.
