Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Lead for the Perishable Departments to manage produce, meats, dairy, frozen, bakery, and related areas. You will assist the Store Manager with inventory, merchandising and customer service to ensure safe, appealing, and profitable operations.

Responsibilities include maintaining stock levels, training associates on presentation and safety, and enforcing food handling rules while supporting store goals and security practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager with inventory management, merchandising presentation, and customer service.
• Maintain perishable stock levels based on store volume and plan accordingly.
• Train associates in proper stocking, rotation, and safe handling of perishable products.
• Record inventory levels and assist with cash accountability and security practices.
• Support in ensuring compliance with sanitation standards and policies.
