Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Perishable Manager to lead Bakery, Deli, Meat/Seafood and Produce departments. You will manage daily operations, staff scheduling, inventory control, and promotional merchandising to meet sales and profit objectives.

The role requires flexibility for nights, weekends, and holidays, with strong leadership and a focus on customer service and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years retail management experience.
• Degree in business, management, marketing, retailing, communications, advertising, liberal arts, or related field preferred.
• Experience and/or exposure to perishable departmental operations.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
• Strong orientation to detail and analytical skills.
• Solid problem solving skills and decisiveness.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
• Proven leadership ability to build, motivate and maintain staff.
• Forklift/power jack training and experience.
• Appropriate food handler’s certificate/permit.
• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Organization and planning skills.
• Able to delegate effectively.
• Computer skills: Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers and maintains good customer relations.
• Oversees all perishable departments (Bakery, Deli, Meat/Seafood, Produce).
• Forecasts, schedules, and monitors labor to align with sales and budgets.
• Maintains productive displays and merchandising plans to meet sales goals.
• Ensures safety and sanitation in line with OSHA and company standards.
• Directs training and development of perishable team members.
• Monitors inventory levels and backroom records for profitability.
• Manages cash handling, security and daily receipts.
• Communicates goals and performance to staff and coordinates with other departments.
