Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking a Grocery Manager to lead multiple departments including Grocery, Dairy, Frozen Foods, and Beer/Wine. You will ensure product freshness, proper rotation, and strong customer service in a fast-paced store environment.

You will manage labor costs, assist with inventories, and coach the team to meet financial goals while maintaining safety and policy standards. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and scheduling abilities in a dynamic retail setting.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with 1 year of managerial or supervisory experience in a multi-department operation.
• Strong written and verbal communication, able to work in a team.
• Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude with customer interaction skills.
• Proven leadership to build, motivate and maintain staff with knowledge of reports and financial goals.
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking and problem solving.
• Food Safety certification and knowledge of federal/state regulations and sanitation.
• Organizational and planning skills with ability to multitask.
• Ability to lift/carry weight as specified and flexible schedule including nights/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee sales and operations of multiple departments including Grocery, Dairy, Frozen Food, and Beer/Wine.
• Monitor product handling, rotation for freshness, and date controls.
• Manage labor costs and shrink, and drive profitability.
• Prepare for store inventories and assist with count processes.
• Oversee receiving, verify deliveries against invoices, report discrepancies.
• Control ordering, sanitation, inventory, and department safety.
• Coach and evaluate team members; conduct bi-annual performance reviews.
• Attend in-store meetings and recruit/hire or promote in collaboration with Store Manager.
• Address team concerns with independent judgment and appropriate actions.
• Adjust schedules and staffing to maximize productivity.
• Communicate standards, policy changes, and product knowledge to staff.
• Lead a team delivering high-quality products and best-in-class service.
• Serve as Key Carrier or Manager on Duty as needed.
