Job summary

Dollar General in Havana, IL seeks a Perishable Department Supervisor to manage produce, dairy, meats, and bakery sections. You will support Store Manager with inventory and merchandise presentation while ensuring customer service excellence and safe operations.

Responsibilities include cash controls, staff training on safety and product handling, and maintaining perishable standards and freshness. Prior lead or grocery experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Retail leadership and grocery experience desirable.
• Ability to obtain local food handling certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate perishable stock levels using store tools.
• Ensure cash accountability and security practices.
• Train associates in perishable handling, rotation, and pricing.
• Support Customer needs and respond to requests promptly.
• Record perishables markdowns and analyze causes to prevent recurrence.
