Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a dedicated Perishable Lead to oversee the produce, meat, dairy, and bakery sections. You will help manage inventory, ensure attractive merchandise presentation, and deliver high-quality customer service under Store Manager supervision.

You’ll guide associates in proper stocking, pricing, and safety procedures while maintaining stock levels and reducing waste. Prior retail leadership experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow store policies and procedures.
• Experience in cash handling and cashier accountability.
• Experience supervising or leading others is preferred.
• Familiarity with planograms and perishable merchandising guidance.
• Strong numerical and math skills for sales reporting and pricing.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in maintaining perishable stock levels using store tools and guides.
• Ensure cash accountability, key control, and adherence to security practices.
• Train associates on presentation, freshness, and pricing standards for perishables.
• Record inventory levels and handle perishable markdowns with corrective actions.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards across the perishables area.
• Support customer service by addressing requests efficiently and professionally.
