Job summary

Food Lion in Savannah, GA is seeking a Perishable Department Manager to lead the perishables team, hire/train staff, and ensure top customer service. You will manage scheduling, labor, and inventory while driving store performance in line with Food Lion's goals.

As a trusted leader, you will coach associates, safeguard food safety, and maintain appearance, quality and sanitation standards to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Good understanding of store operations preferred.
• Ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be accredited by a food safety program or will attend training and achieve accreditation within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Perishable Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise the performance of department staff and provide ongoing performance management and training.
• Daily management of labor and coaching of associates to meet productivity goals.
• Provide leadership to promote a culture aligned with Food Lion Principles and Strategy.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Maintain an enthusiastic customer service environment and positive shopping experience.
• Ensure department scheduling, ordering, inventory and merchandising are compliant with policies.
• Monitor safety, sanitation and regulatory compliance in the department.
