Job summary

Food Lion in Swansboro, NC, is seeking a Perishable Department Manager to lead the perishables team, drive sales, and ensure excellent customer service in a fast-paced store environment.

You will hire, train, and develop department associates, manage labor and scheduling, and align actions with Food Lion strategies while maintaining safety and quality standards. Experience in store operations and a Food Safety Manager accreditation is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Good understanding of store operations preferred.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Ability to lead and direct others.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.

• Accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar, or ability to achieve accreditation within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Perishable Department, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of department associates and provide ongoing performance management and training.
• Daily management of labor and coaching to achieve productivity expectations.
• Provide leadership to promote a culture aligned with Guiding Principles and Strategy.
• Support achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a positive shopping experience for customers.
• Monitor inventory and control shrink, ordering, receiving, and displays.
• Ensure adherence to safety, sanitation, and company policies.
