Job summary

Capital Health in Pennington, NJ seeks an experienced OR Scheduling Leader to optimize operating room throughput and procedural flow. You will coordinate resources, rooms, staffing, and case sequencing across perioperative areas, working with anesthesia, surgeons and ancillary departments to minimize delays and protect patient throughput.

The role requires a solid background in perioperative workflows, real-time operations, and strong communication, with a focus on efficient, safe patient care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Three years of healthcare-related experience in OR/procedural services or scheduling.
• Strong communication, prioritization and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate overall functions of the Procedural Scheduling Departments across campus.
• Establish staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage; monitor schedulers' productivity.
• Provide real-time oversight of OR and procedural schedules to optimize utilization.
• Serve as central coordination point for OR logistics including room readiness and staffing.
• Adjust case sequencing, room assignments and staffing plans for delays or emergencies.
• Collaborate with Perioperative leadership, anesthesia, surgeons and ancillary departments.
• Lead daily operational huddles and communicate flow/status to stakeholders.
• Support onboarding and training of scheduling staff; provide guidance.
• Drive continuous improvement in perioperative throughput, efficiency and access.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
