Job summary

Capital Health is seeking an experienced Procedural Scheduling Lead to optimize OR throughput across multiple procedural areas including ORs, CVIR, HVC, Endoscopy, and ambulatory centers. You will coordinate resources, rooms, staffing, and case sequencing to ensure safe, efficient, and timely care.

The role requires 3 years in healthcare operations, strong communication, and the ability to manage real-time workflow in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Experience: Three years in OR, procedural services, surgical scheduling, or logistic/healthcare capacity management.
• Knowledge and Skills: Strong understanding of perioperative workflows; real time operational flow; communication and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates overall functions of the Procedural Scheduling Departments across campus.
• Establishes staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage; monitors and enhances productivity of the schedulers.
• Provides real time operational oversight of daily operating room and procedural schedules to optimize utilization, case flow, and throughput.
• Serves as central coordination point for OR logistics, including room readiness, staffing alignment, equipment availability, and turnover efficiency.
• Actively monitors procedural progress and adjusts case sequencing, room assignments, and staffing plans in response to delays, emergencies, add-ons, or staffing constraints.
• Collaborates with Perioperative leadership, Anesthesia, Surgeons, and Ancillary departments to resolve operational barriers.
• Leads daily operational huddles and provides real time communication to stakeholders regarding flow, delays, and mitigation plans.
• Participates in onboarding, education, and support of scheduling and flow staff, providing guidance without formal supervisory responsibilities.
• Collaborates with leadership on continuous improvement initiatives related to Perioperative throughput, efficiency, and access.
• Performs other related duties as assigned to support operational needs.
