Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking qualified perioperative staff for Women & Babies Hospital in Lancaster, PA. Full-time shifts, day hours, with weekend and on-call rotation as described.

A sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 is offered to eligible candidates who commit to the role for two years. Position focuses on providing supportive nursing care in perioperative services, with responsibilities in aseptic technique, instrument handling, and collaborative team care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a surgical technologist program from an accredited entity.
• Surgical Technologist certification within six months of hire.
• US military surgical tech training accepted.
• Prior Penn Medicine experience in a surgical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive nursing care to selected patients under supervision.
• Assist in patient care measures and inform RN of signs requiring attention.
• Follow infection control and aseptic techniques consistently.
• Set up sterile instruments and supplies per surgeon or RN circulator instructions.
• Assist in labeling, handling of surgical specimens, and maintaining a safe environment.
• Participate in room turnover and continuous quality improvement.
