Job summary

St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA is seeking a Surgical Technician (OR Tech) to assist in nursing care in the operating room under the supervision of an OR RN, applying sterile technique and supporting the surgical team.

The role requires 1–2 years experience, HS Diploma or equivalency, and certification as a Surgical Technician; the position offers an evening shift and a $10,000 sign-on bonus with a 2-year commitment. Comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalency is required.
• Certified Surgical Technician credential required.
• 1-2 years of surgical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Applies scientific principles in adhering to sterile technique (gowning, gloving, draping etc.)
• demonstrates proper scrubbing skills, handles, and passes instrumentation utilizing aseptic technique and can anticipate patient and surgeon needs.
• Assists in transfer and positioning of patients.
• Collaborates with circulating nurse in room preparation, selecting supplies, and equipment is organized fashion.
• Creates, maintains, and monitors the sterile field continuously.
• Takes responsibility for maintaining equipment and instrumentation in proper functional condition.
• Assess and responds appropriately in an emergency situation to prioritize and meets the patients' immediate needs.
• Acts as a patient advocate and protect the patient’s rights through safe and ethical practice.
• Demonstrates safe, proper, and appropriate use of sterilizers.
