Job summary

Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center is seeking a knowledgeable Surgical Technologist for the night shift. You will ensure a sterile environment, prepare instruments for procedures, and anticipate the surgical team's needs while providing essential instrumentation and supplies.

The role involves assisting in a wide range of surgeries within a 34-operating room hospital setting, with opportunities for professional growth in an academic medical center and Level I trauma context.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program and maintains NBSTSA certification within six months of graduation if a new graduate.
• Completion of an appropriate training program for surgical technology in the US Army, Navy, or Air Force.
• Previously employed to practice surgical technology by Penn State Health or another healthcare facility as the primary function within the two years prior to December 29, 2020.

Responsibilities

• Provide a sterile patient care environment and set up instrumentation for operating room procedures.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team by providing instruments and supplies.
• Provide surgical assistance during operating room procedures.
• Support the OR team in a high-volume academic medical center with diverse case mix.
