Good Shepherd Health Care System is seeking a Perioperative Aide to support the Surgical Services department. The role assists in preparing case carts, equipment distribution, inventory control, and patient transport within the operating room environment.

Responsibilities include following safety protocols, assisting with routine and terminal OR cleaning, and maintaining confidentiality. Requires basic computer skills and a high school diploma; Basic Life Support is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Preferred: Basic Life Support Certification.
• Knowledge of surgical instruments and equipment preferred.
• Experience in perioperative or acute care setting preferred.
• Ability to safely move and handle patients and equipment.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and distribute surgical case carts according to physician's preference lists and anticipated needs of the perioperative team.
• Prepare and distribute equipment and positioning supplies according to the anticipated needs of the perioperative team.
• Maintain inventory levels of anesthesia equipment and supplies, including anesthesia carts, and the anesthesia supply areas.
• Assist in transporting patients and equipment as needed.
• Follow established protocols for transporting equipment, supplies, and other items.
• Safely move, transfer, and transport patients onto transport vehicles (e.g.; wheelchairs, stretchers, patient beds, OR beds).
• Operate patient lifting equipment and mechanical assistance devices safely and according to manufacturer's instructions.
• Prepare transport vehicles and equipment according to the anticipated needs of the perioperative team.
• Follow established protocols for routine, between-case, enhanced environmental cleaning, and terminal cleaning of the ORs and procedure rooms.
• Follow safety procedures and manufacturer's instructions when handling cleaning solutions, supplies and equipment.
• Adherent to standard precautions including the use of personal protective equipment.
• Maintain privacy and confidentiality of individuals and health information.
• Participates in required education for DNV programs as applicable to position.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
