Job summary

Good Shepherd Health Care is seeking a Perioperative Aide to assist in all areas of the Surgical Services department and support operating room efficiency. The role involves preparing carts, equipment, and supplies, transporting patients, and ensuring patient safety during procedures.

Essential duties include maintaining anesthesia equipment, following cleaning protocols, and upholding confidentiality and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills required for daily tasks.
• Knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute surgical case carts according to physician's preferences.
• Prepare equipment and positioning supplies for the perioperative team.
• Maintain inventory levels of anesthesia equipment and supplies.
• Assist in transporting patients and equipment as needed.
• Follow protocols for transporting equipment and materials.
• Move and transfer patients safely onto transport devices or beds.
• Operate lifting devices safely and according to instructions.
• Assist with routine and terminal cleaning of ORs and procedure rooms.
• Follow safety procedures and PPE guidelines at all times.
• Protect patient privacy and confidentiality; support hospital mission.
