Job summary

Christus Health is seeking a Registered Nurse with perioperative experience to provide high-quality patient care in the operating suite. The nurse will follow the nursing process, educate patients and families, and ensure documentation of history and treatments.

ACLS and PALS certifications are required, and new hires participate in orientation and competency validations. 1 year of related perioperative experience is preferred; new hires must complete onboarding and annual competency

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• RN license in state of employment or compact required/permitted.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of OneCHRISTUS competencies: Leader of Self/Others/Leaders.
• Provides nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation.
• Addresses complex psychosocial needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications and care.
• Assesses learning needs and educates patients, families and caregivers.

Education
