Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a qualified Nurse to provide independent, comprehensive perioperative and acute care. The role requires carrying out nursing processes, administering medications, and educating patients and families.

The candidate should have a BSN preferred, with 1 year of related experience, and current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, plus an active RN license in Texas or a compact state. Perioperative experience is valued, with orientation and competency validations included.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current ACLS certification required.
• Current PALS certification required.
• BLS required and RN license in state of employment or compact.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation) for assigned patients.
• Administers medications and treatments using appropriate protocol; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication and care provided.
• Addresses learning needs and educates patients, families, and caregivers.
• Performs appropriate delegations to other care providers to manage the clinical situation.
