Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice within good standing.
• Successful completion of BLS/BCLS within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment; PALS if pediatric care is involved.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status per policy.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe pathophysiology.
• Apply discharge scoring systems and develop a perianesthesia plan.
• Implement care including recovery management and infection prevention.
• Provide education and hand off care; protect patient rights and privacy.
• Document care completely and collaborate with the team.
