Job summary

A leading Ambulatory Surgery Center in Oradell is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Pre-Operative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit. The ideal candidate will hold a New Jersey RN license, possess strong perioperative experience, and excel in patient education and collaboration with the surgical team. Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Experience or training in perioperative nursing, specifically in PreOp and PACU settings.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia recovery, and patient monitoring protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough preoperative assessments including reviewing patient history, medications, and allergies.
• Provide patient education regarding surgical procedures, anesthesia, and postoperative care.
• Monitor patients closely in the PACU, assessing vital signs and potential complications.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to coordinate patient flow.
• Document all nursing care activities accurately.
• Administer medications and interventions as prescribed.
• Support discharge planning by evaluating patient readiness.
