Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice.
• BLS/BCLS within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• PALS if pediatric care is included.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status according to facility policies.
• Interpret information from monitors accurately.
• Describe the pathophysiology of diseases and anesthesia techniques.
• Develop and implement an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Manage patient recovery from anesthesia across the perioperative continuum.
• Provide education to patient and family about recovery and post-op care.
• Transfer care with accurate hand-off and documentation.
