Job summary

SCA Health in Annapolis, MD is actively seeking a Registered Nurse for the PreOp PACU role. You will assess preoperative and postoperative status, interpret monitors, and develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care, coordinating with the team to ensure safe recovery from anesthesia.

Required credentials include an accredited nursing degree, 1 year PACU/preop experience, active state licensure, BLS, ACLS, and PALS when pediatric care is involved.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Medical / surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice within good standings.
• Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of employment.
• Successful completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification required when pediatric care is included within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status per facility policies and procedures.
• Interpret information from noninvasive and invasive monitors.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Administer medications safely using the 8 rights of safe medication administration.
• Provide hand-off reports to other teammates accurately and concisely.
• Document nursing care completely, accurately, and legibly.
