Job summary

Idaho Falls Community Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for Pre-Op/PACU duties. The role involves caring for patients undergoing surgery, starting IVs, administering pre-operative medications, and managing recovery in PACU with continuous monitoring and assessments.

The ideal candidate will have an Idaho RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and 2 years of Critical Care or PACU experience, contributing to high-quality patient care in a busy perioperative setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Idaho.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification required.
• Two years of Critical Care or PACU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-op and PACU nursing care for surgical patients.
• Start IVs and administer pre-operative medications.
• Monitor vital signs and Aldrete scoring; ensure adequate ventilation and circulation.
• Assess patients for readiness for anesthesia and transfer to OR.
• Maintain readiness and cleanliness of the PACU area and equipment.
• Document nursing notes and coordinate with physicians/anesthesia team.
