Job summary

Idaho Falls Community Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our perioperative team in Idaho Falls. You will provide pre-operative care, start IVs, administer medications, and guide patients through the admission and post-anesthesia phases.

The PACU role focuses on airway, breathing, circulation, pain management, and safe transition to recovery. Candidates should have Idaho RN licensure, with BLS/ACLS/PALS credentials and at least two years in Critical Care or PACU; strong teamwork and

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse licensure in Idaho is required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications.
• Two years of Critical Care or PACU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain readiness of OR and PACU with necessary equipment.
• Assess physical and emotional needs and implement nursing interventions.
• Start IVs, monitor IV fluids and medications per protocol.
• Provide pre-operative instructions and explain patient rights and procedures.
• Monitor vitals, pain levels, and administer medications as needed.
• Record nursing notes and collaborate with anesthesia team.
• Ensure patient privacy, dignity, and safety throughout perioperative care.
