Job summary

Idaho Falls Community Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our perioperative team in Idaho Falls, ID. The role covers Pre-Op/Admitting and PACU (Phase I) care for surgical patients and requires nursing licensure in Idaho with current BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Responsibilities include preparing the OR, starting IVs, pre-operative medication administration, and ensuring patient safety and comfort through recovery, with documented nursing notes and adherence to physician orders.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Idaho is required.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with valid license.
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains readiness of the perioperative area with equipment and age-appropriate supplies.
• Assesses patients pre-operatively, including allergies, home meds, and consent forms.
• Starts IVs, administers pre-operative meds, and explains procedures to patients.
• Provides PACU care: monitor airway, vitals, pain, and Aldrete scoring.
• Documents nursing notes and follows physician/anesthesia orders.
• Ensures patient privacy and safety throughout perioperative process.

Education

Registered Nurse licensure (Idaho)

Graduate of accredited school of nursing

Current BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
