Job summary

Northwest Specialty Hospital in Post Falls, ID is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pre-Op/PACU unit. This part-time role requires alternating pre-op and recovery duties with a typical 2:1 patient-nurse ratio and strong nursing skills.

The RN will perform assessments, plan, implement and evaluate care, supervise admissions/discharges, and ensure safe medication handling while meeting documentation standards and collaborating with the care team.

Qualifications

• Previous PACU, critical care, or emergency room experience strongly preferred
• Current RN licensure in the State of Idaho
• BSN preferred
• Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• ACLS certification within six months of employment
• PALS certification within six months of employment
• Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
• Ability to relate and work effectively with others
• Aware of professional nursing standards and performs in accordance with them

Responsibilities

• Direct and provide professional nursing care in PACU/Pre-Op Unit
• Work pre-op and recovery with a typical 2:1 patient to nurse ratio
• Utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to direct or provide nursing care
• Delegate nursing assignments, prepare schedules, oversee admissions and discharges
• Monitor and order medicines and supplies
