Job summary

Southpoint Surgery Center, affiliated with North Carolina Specialty Hospital, is seeking a Registered Nurse for our ambulatory surgery center in Durham, NC. You will deliver comprehensive perioperative nursing care for varied surgical specialties in a 22,298 sq. ft.

facility. Responsibilities include direct patient care, age-specific assessments, teamwork with surgeons and anesthesia providers, documentation, and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in NC (compact multi-state license acceptable).
• BLS from AHA or ARC required; ACLS & PALS preferred; obtain within 6 months if not active.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nursing care to surgical patients, ensuring safety and adherence to standards.
• Apply age-specific standards for care across adolescent to geriatric patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to plan perioperative care.
• Maintain clear documentation of patient care in the medical record.
• Promote Universal Protocol and time-out procedures in every case.
• Participate in performance improvement activities and quality initiatives.
