Job summary

Southpoint Surgery Center, affiliated with North Carolina Specialty Hospital, is seeking an RN to provide perioperative nursing care in a new ambulatory surgery center near Durham. The role focuses on surgical patient safety, coordination with surgeons and anesthesia, and efficient care delivery.

The ideal candidate holds an associate degree in nursing, current NC license, and BLS; ACLS/PALS preferred and must be obtained within 6 months if not active.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an associate degree required.
• Current RN licensure in North Carolina or a compact state.
• BLS certification required; ACLS & PALS preferred; must obtain if not active within 6 months.
• CNOR certification strongly preferred.
• Familiar with perioperative instruments and equipment.
• Manual dexterity to handle surgical instruments.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized nursing care to the surgical patient in the ambulatory setting.
• Follow age-specific standards and guidelines for analgesia and anesthesia care.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to plan perioperative care.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and procedures.
• Participate in universal protocol and time-out procedures.
• Contribute to performance improvement activities and quality measures.
