The Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System (GLA) - West Los Angeles is seeking a Registered Nurse for the PRE/PACU.

The RN provides specialized nursing care before and after surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures, including assessments, recovery monitoring, pain and airway management, care coordination, and patient education, while supporting leadership and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• RN license in good standing in the United States.
• Graduate of an approved nursing program with ACEN/CCNE accreditation.
• May qualify via bridge program and state licensure path.
• Foreign graduates must have current unrestricted registration.
• Credit for foreign education requires formal equivalency validation.
• State license or eligible for licensure.
• GNT exception allows temporary appointment while pursuing licensure.

Responsabilités

• Provide specialized nursing care across perioperative continuum (pre-, intra-, post-anesthesia).
• Perform preoperative assessments and verify consent and H&P.
• Prepare patients for procedures, establish IV access and assist with blocks.
• Monitor post-anesthesia recovery, vital signs, and airway management.
• Educate patients and families on recovery expectations and follow-up.
