Job summary

Surgery Partners is seeking a RN Pre-Op & PACU to ensure patient safety throughout peri-anesthesia care. The nurse will educate patients, perform health assessments, and develop individualized care plans, while monitoring after procedures and guiding discharge and follow-up care.

The role requires coordination with surgeons and hospital teams. Responsibilities include pre-operative assessments, education, post-anesthesia monitoring, pain management, and adherence to CMS/CDC/AAAHC standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to make sound and reasonable clinical decisions.
• Ability to concentrate on individual patient care and perform calmly under pressure.
• Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with physicians, hospital partners, and ASC staff.

Responsibilities

• Pre-operative assessments and patient education.
• Prepare patients for surgical procedures and provide pre-operative education and instructions.
• Document assessments and care plans thoroughly in the medical record.
• Assess and monitor post-anesthesia and sedated patients in the PACU.
• Provide post-operative pain management and comfort measures.
• Document all post-operative care and interventions in the medical record.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, coworkers, and guests.
• Collaborate with colleagues to improve patient care quality and efficiency.

Education

Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
