Job summary

Jefferson Health in Abington, PA, is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse - Operating Room at the Abington campus. This 24-hour-per-week day-shift position requires an accredited nursing program diploma and PA RN licensure.

The nurse delivers perioperative care using the nursing process, develops care plans with patients and families, and collaborates with an inter-professional team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes. Periop 101 completion is preferred.

Qualifications

• Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
• Knowledge of patient- and family-centered practice and ability to collaborate with patients and families in care planning.
• Effective communication to convey information, engage patients and families, and delegate to team members.
• Cultural awareness and ability to work with diverse backgrounds.
• Understanding of nursing processes, patient assessment, and discharge planning.
• BLS certification and PA RN license required.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with patients, families, and staff, integrating evidence-based practice and clinical expertise to deliver optimal healthcare.
• Partners with patients and families to identify learning needs and provide understandable education.
• Uses information technology to communicate, monitor care outcomes, and support quality improvement.
• Works within inter-professional teams to ensure safe, compassionate, coordinated care.
• Promotes inclusion and ongoing professional growth, serving as a preceptor when appropriate.
• Participates in hospital committees focused on safety and quality improvement.
