Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center, part of Trinity Health, seeks an Operating Room Registered Nurse for the evening shift. This 1.0 FTE role involves scrubbing and circulating on cases, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team in a Level II NICU and comprehensive cardiology center.

The position requires an Associate degree in nursing, Iowa RN license, and BLS. BSN is preferred; on-call rotation is included with 40 hours weekly, 11:00 am–9:30 pm.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license required; MercyOne/MercyOne Genesis license in Iowa or Illinois acceptable with transfer within 12 months.
• Operating Room experience preferred.
• American Heart Association BLS required.
• Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
• Must work in a collaborative leadership environment.
• Must demonstrate honesty, integrity, and caring consistent with Trinity Health and MercyOne values.

Responsibilities

• Scrubs and circulates on cases independently, with minimal direction.
• Prepares for surgical cases, anticipating needs of patient, surgeon, anesthesia, and OR team.
• Maintains aseptic technique and safe environment for patient and staff.
• Participates in patient assessment and nursing diagnosis.
• Communicates effectively with patient, staff, physicians, and families.
• Initiates and directs room turnover and OR setup.
