Job summary

UMC Health System in Lubbock, TX is seeking an RN to join the CVOR/OR team in a full-time daytime schedule (7am-3pm) with on-call. The OR handles around 16,000 cases per year with a team of 250 staff, offering diverse perioperative exposure and collaborative care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and techs.

The nurse will assess, implement or delegate, plan and evaluate total nursing care while maintaining quality standards and continuity across shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Valid Texas RN License or eligible for Compact License.
• Maintain BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 2 years of OR experience.
• BSN required or must earn within 3 years.
• CNOR Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide and direct nursing care for a group of patients.
• Assess, implement or delegate, plan, and evaluate total nursing care.
• Relate effectively with other shifts/departments for continuity of care.
• Gives professional nursing care and supervises nursing staff at least 50% of the time.
