Job summary

UMC Health System in Lubbock, TX seeks a Registered Nurse for the CVOR (Red Team) to join a high-volume operating room. The OR handles around 16,000 cases per year and employs over 250 staff. The RN will assess, plan, delegate, and direct perioperative nursing care across shifts with a focus on continuity of patient care.

The position is full-time days (7am-3pm) with on-call responsibilities. A BSN is required or must be earned within 3 years; valid Texas RN license or eligible Compact License;

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Texas RN license or eligible Compact license.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association.
• Minimum of 2 years of OR experience.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, implement or delegate, plan and evaluate total nursing care for a group of patients.
• Provide and direct patient care in accordance with established philosophy.
• Supervise and guide nursing staff at least 50% of the time.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists and OR staff for continuity of care.
