Job summary

Jefferson Health’s Abington campus is seeking a Registered Nurse - Operating Room for part-time, 24 hours per week, with a Day shift. Perioperative 101 completion preferred and commitment to patient- and family-centered care are emphasized throughout the role.

The nurse will work within a collaborative team, using evidence-based practice and nursing processes to address physical, psychological, and social needs of diverse patients and to ensure safe, high-quality perioperative care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Knowledge of patient- and family-centered care delivery.
• Cultural awareness and effective communication with patients from diverse backgrounds.
• Knowledge of discharge planning and patient education.
• Understanding of medication administration and the nursing process.
• Experience with health information documentation.

Responsibilities

• Interact with patients, families and staff to deliver safe, compassionate care.
• Collaborate with patients and families to identify learning needs and provide education.
• Follow established nursing practices to minimize risk and ensure quality care.
• Use information technology to document care and support decision making.
