Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Fairfield Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room. You will collaborate with the surgical team, assess patient status and contribute to a safe, therapeutic perioperative environment.

Requires an accredited nursing degree (ADN or BSN), current RN license, and BLS; ACLS/PALS preferred. CNOR and SGNA are optional. Prior OR/CCU experience is valued with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
• Current state RN licensure is required.
• BLS Basic Life Support; ACLS or PALS preferred and must be obtained if not on hire.
• CNOR certification and SGNA are preferred but not required.
• Two years of RN experience in Critical Care is preferred but not required.
• Completion of OR internship program is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment.
• Observe the surgery and assist the team to create and maintain a safe environment for the patient.
• Manage the nursing care of the patient within the OR and coordinate with other care providers.
• Provide pre-op, intra-op, and post-op care including discharge instructions.
• Other duties as assigned.
